Terms and Conditions of Lexemica Dictionary
Introduction
Welcome to Lexemica Dictionary (the “App”), a product designed to help you learn and use languages more effectively. By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”). Please read them carefully.

Eligibility and Permitted Use
You must be at least 12 years old to use the App. The App is provided for personal, educational, and non-commercial use. Any commercial use requires our prior written consent. You are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and for all activity that occurs under your account (if any).
Accounts
Some features may require an account. You agree to keep your credentials confidential and to provide accurate information. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to the App or other users.
Subscription Plans, Free Trial, and Payments
Certain features are available through paid subscriptions. Pricing, features, and plan details are shown in-app prior to purchase and may vary by platform and region.
a. Free Trial. We may offer a free trial for a limited period, currently seven (7) days (the “Free Trial”). Unless you cancel before the Free Trial ends via your account settings or the relevant app store, your plan converts to a recurring paid subscription (monthly or annual, as selected), and the applicable fee will be charged to your chosen payment method.
b. Payments and Renewals. Fees and applicable taxes are processed by the relevant app store or payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before renewal.
c. Cancellation. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or the app store’s subscription management. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Access to premium features continues until the period expires. To avoid charges after a Free Trial, cancel before it ends.
d. Refunds. Except as required by law or the app store’s policies, fees are non-refundable. We do not provide credits or refunds for partially used periods or post-renewal cancellations. The prior 7-day refund policy for annual plans is replaced by the Free Trial described above.
e. Changes to Fees. We may change prices with reasonable prior notice (e.g., in-app notice or email). If required, we will ask for your consent to continue at the new price.
Content and Intellectual Property
The App, including texts, graphics, UI, software, and trademarks, is owned by Mario Martinez and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, scrape, or distribute the App or its content without permission.
User Inputs and License
You may submit text (e.g., words, sentences) for analysis (“User Inputs”). You retain any rights you have in your User Inputs, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, and use them to provide the service and to improve and develop the App (e.g., quality, safety, and feature improvements), in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Do not submit confidential or sensitive personal information in your Inputs.
AI, Educational Purpose, and Accuracy
Some outputs are generated or assisted by AI and may contain errors or omissions. The App is intended for educational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice. Always use your own judgment, especially in formal, academic, or professional contexts.
Acceptable Use
- Use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Do not upload or share unlawful, infringing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise objectionable content.
- Do not attempt to hack, probe, disrupt, or overload the App or its infrastructure.
- Do not harvest data, scrape content, or use bots or automated systems without permission.
- Do not circumvent technical protections, paywalls, or usage limits.
Third-Party Services
The App may integrate third-party services (e.g., app stores, speech/audio, dictionaries, or AI model providers). Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect data. By using the App, you agree to it. You can find it from within the App or atdictionary.lexemica.com/privacy.
Availability and Changes to Services
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features or the App (in whole or in part) at any time without notice. We are not liable for any unavailability or changes.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties (express or implied). In no event shall Mario Martinez be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the App.
Dispute Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute with us informally by emailingsupport@dictionary.lexemica.com. If we cannot resolve it, you agree that the courts of Spain shall have exclusive jurisdiction, and Spanish law governs these Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, including if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP, User Inputs license, disclaimers, limitation of liability, dispute resolution) will survive.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide reasonable notice (e.g., in-app notice or email), and the updated Terms will be effective when posted. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
